Peak Time Savings Events

ComEd will credit your energy bill when you reduce your energy usage below what you have typically used during recent hot summer days during a Peak Time Savings event. Peak Time Savings events will typically occur for a few hours between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. during the summer — when most air conditioners are on, stores are open and factories are running. ComEd will announce Peak Time Savings events on two to four days during the summer season.

Notification Method

When you enroll, you can choose to be notified by phone call, text message or email. You will be notified on the day Peak Time Savings events occur - as early as 9 a.m. or at least 30 minutes prior to the start of an event.

Earn a Bill Credit

When you participate, ComEd will credit your monthly bill for reducing your energy use during Peak Time Savings events. A credit will appear as actual dollars off the total amount due on your next energy bill or the following bill. There is no penalty for not participating. You just won't earn a credit on your energy bill for that day. And, you can still participate in future Peak Time Savings events.

Act and Save

The amount your energy bill will be credited will be based on your current energy usage. See the chart below for examples of the bill credit amounts you could potentially earn by participating in a Peak Time Savings events. Use the Peak Time Savings Calculator to estimate your potential cumulative earnings for the summer.*
