For many small businesses and public sector facilities, controlling day-to-day expenses is critical to improving their bottom line. To help them reduce their energy use, the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program offers FREE DIY Energy Savings Kits to start these organizations on the right path.
Qualifying customers can receive a FREE DIY Energy Savings Kit which is shipped directly to their facility for self-installation. The kits include simple energy-efficient products like LED light bulbs, water-saving faucet aerators or advanced power strips. Best of all, the kits also come with instructions on how to start a project with the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program when you want to take your energy savings to the next level.
Small businesses that generate less than 200kW peak demand and public sector facilities that generate less than 400kW peak demand and who have not previously participated in the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program Small Business offering are eligible to receive a kit.
To verify your eligibility, email us at SmallBizKitsEE@ComEd.com or call 800-957-6125 during normal business hours to speak with a ComEd Energy Efficiency Program representative.

DIY Energy Savings Kits are designed to educate small businesses and public facilities about the energy-saving opportunities available to them. In some cases, an authorized Energy Efficiency Service Provider will deliver the kit to help ensure correct installation. After the kit has been installed, we recommend scheduling a free energy assessment so a Service Provider can identify all potential energy-saving opportunities.
To receive a DIY Energy Savings Kit, you must be a non-residential ComEd customer who has not previously participated in the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program Small Business offering, with an electrical peak demand under 200 kW for private businesses and under 400 kW for public facilities.
The DIY Energy Savings Kit is free of charge, as is the facility energy assessment that acts as the first step in undertaking an energy efficiency project through the Small Business offering. If you do choose to undertake a project with one of our authorized Service Providers, they will help you obtain incentives to help cover the cost of your project. You only pay the remainder after incentives are applied.
You’ll learn how to save through energy-efficient products that will help reduce your energy costs. Then, if you’re interested in saving more money and energy, you can schedule a free energy assessment with an authorized Service Provider who will work to complete a more comprehensive facility upgrade that meets your specific needs.
Each qualifying business or public facility is limited to one kit.
The contents of the DIY Energy Savings Kit cannot be changed.
