Hey, everybody. It's Adam LeBlanc from Sixteen Candles, and we are so excited to be returning this year to entertain you all for Switch On Summer. We're sad we won't be able to see you at Buckingham Fountain this year, but it's important that everyone stay home, stay safe, and social distance. But we've got some exciting news. Not only are we going to perform a virtual performance for you all, we've been invited back in 2021 to Switch On Summer at Buckingham Fountain. Be sure to follow ComEd on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more updates on our 2021 performance and for our virtual performance that's coming up real soon. We're really excited and we can't wait to see you all. [music] ComEd Switch on Summer is long in coming. It's finally here. Let's go, ComEd. [music] ComEd Switch On Summer! [music] [expressive dance music] You know, ComEd ran a contest for the chance to throw the switch right back here, and there were over 8,580 entries, and we have the winner with us. Meesha Brown right here. [cheers] Meesha, let her go. Oh, the lay is good. Oh, alright. [cheering] Alright. [music] How beautiful. Switch On Summer. Five, four, three, two, one. [cheers] Alright. [cheers] Empowering lives means more than keeping on the electricity. It means working with great partners like the partners that are here with us today and with the Chicago Park District for this unbelievable event. Switch On Summer! We love summer! Switch On Summer. Hi, everyone. I want to start by recognizing it's been a tough few months for you and our communities. Please know we stand together with you. And while we'd love to celebrate the start of the summer as we have for the past five years in front of the Buckingham Fountain, unfortunately we're going to have to postpone this year's onsite event and instead, virtually bring celebration to your homes. I'm glad we could take time together with family and friends, so thanks for being here. It's also a great time to recognize the courage and the resilience and caring hearts of our family friends and community support organizations, and of course our essential workers. I'm really proud of the team at ComEd. The men and women who power our lives have not missed a beat. They continue to provide you with safe, reliable energy, and they do so by ensuring your safety and wellness, so that we can protect our communities and our fellow coworkers. We also do it be respecting the diversity and culture of the communities that we're honored to serve. Finally, let me thank our partners in today's event. We're grateful to each of you because it reminds us how much we can accomplish when we work together as a family. Instead of switching on summer, this year, lets switch on togetherness. To keep with this theme, ComEd is working with communities to keep engaged during these summer months. We have a series of virtual STEM events for teachers, parents and students to further STEM education from the comfort of their own homes. To keep the celebration and education going, head over to comed.com/switchonsummer2020 for at home STEM activities, and for a performance by Sixteen Candles. They're wonderful. We hope to see you in person at Switch on Summer at the Buckingham Fountain next year. Please be safe. God bless, and continue to take care of yourselves and your families. [music] I can't stand this indecision, married with a lack of vision Everybody wants to rule the world Say that you'll never, never, never, never need it One headline, why believe it?
