ComEd Energy Efficiency Program has saved customers more than $4.5 billion on energy bills
CHICAGO (April 1, 2020) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy today named ComEd as a recipient of the 2020 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for continued leadership and superior contributions to improving energy efficiency in the communities ComEd serves.
This is the eleventh consecutive year that ComEd was recognized for its efforts. In 2019, nearly 400,000 customers took advantage of the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program, which has helped customers to save more than $4.5 billion on their energy bills.
"We empower our customers to take control of their energy use through offerings that help them save energy and money," said Erica Borggren, vice president of customer solutions for ComEd. "It's an honor to be recognized once again for our efforts to help customers make smart energy decisions."
The Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award is the highest honor in the ENERGY STAR program. EPA presents the Sustained Excellence Award to partners that have already received Partner of the Year recognition for at least two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria for recognition. Winners range from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations and represent energy-efficient products, services, new homes and buildings in the commercial, industrial and public sectors.
"I salute the 2020 ENERGY STAR award winners," said Anne Idsal, EPA Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation. "These leaders demonstrate how energy efficiency drives economic competitiveness in tandem with environmental protection."
ComEd and its Exelon sister companies BGE, Delmarva Power, PECO, and Pepco are also ENERGY STAR award recipients.
