ComEd Promotes Nichole Owens to Vice President of Customer Channels

Erica Borggren rotates into role of vice president of customer solutions

CHICAGO (Nov. 14, 2018) – As part of its effort to give leaders opportunities to advance their careers, ComEd has promoted Nichole Owens to vice president of customer channels. In this role, Owens will lead the customer care center and customer relations function, direct investments in digital tools that make it easier for customers to manage their accounts and stay informed, and continue to improve customers' overall experience. 

"Nichole is a highly engaging leader and innovator," said Terence R. Donnelly, president and chief operating officer of ComEd. "She has a strong track record of nearly 20 years with ComEd in both field and customer operations. Her passion and commitment to excellence will help us continue to simplify and improve customers' experience with ComEd."

Owens has served as director of customer care since April 2016. In that role, she was responsible for the strategic direction and operations of ComEd's customer care center. Under her leadership, the care center consistently delivered best-on-record results for customers. Since joining ComEd in 1999, Owens held roles of increasing responsibility, including senior manager of regional electric operations.

Owens succeeds Erica Borggren, who will rotate into the expanded role of vice president of customer solutions. In this position, she will lead the continued growth of ComEd's industry-leading energy efficiency programs, which help customers save money by taking greater control of their energy use. Borggren also will continue to oversee demand response and dynamic pricing, emerging technology and new customer product development, and business data analytics.

"Pairing her deep knowledge of the customer experience and data analytics with our work to help customers save money and energy that is at the center of our clean energy technology and research and development efforts will serve our customers well."

Borggren joined ComEd in 2015 as vice president of communications, overseeing all facets of communications. Before she joined ComEd, Borggren served as acting secretary of the Illinois Department of Transportation and director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs. Borggren is a military veteran who served in combat in Iraq, a West Point graduate, and a Rhodes Scholar.
