Local students' artwork to be featured on ComEd billing envelopes through August
CHICAGO (March 14, 2016) – ComEd customers may notice that their bills are looking a little more creative this month, thanks to the 'Power Pictures' program, which is using local students' artwork to decorate the company's billing envelopes.
The contest, which launched last fall, invited third graders throughout Northern Illinois to enter a drawing based on a pre-selected theme, such as energy efficiency and electrical safety. The top 25 drawings were then voted on by the public through Facebook.
"The 'Power Pictures' contest was a fun way for ComEd to work with students in our local communities, and also provide a friendlier experience to customers receiving bills each month," said Diana Sharpe, Premier Customer Experience manager, ComEd. "We were impressed by the talent and creativity of these young, aspiring artists, and hope that our customers are, too."
In addition to having their artwork featured on an envelope for one month in 2016, each winning student received $250, a printed poster or his or her drawing, and a $1,500 donation toward his or her school. It's estimated that more than 3 million ComEd customers will see the winners' drawings.
