Get rate information through tariff documents
At ComEd, we provide electronic tariff documents (in pdf format) for the convenience of our residential and business customers. Our tariffs are subject to regulatory review and approval by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC). However, users of electronic tariffs should note these tariffs are not the official documents and users assume responsibility for reliance upon tariffs in electronic format.
Although ComEd aims to have this information current at all times, it should be emphasized that the rates and provisions in the tariffs are subject to revision. All of the tariffs below have been approved by the ICC. Notification of proposed changes to ComEd's tariffs are not provided on this website.

Individual Retail Electric Service Tariffs
Rate RDS - Retail Delivery Service: The charges and terms of Rate RDS are applicable to all retail customers in ComEd’s service territory for delivery service. For retail customers taking a bundled service from ComEd’s Basic Electric Service tariff, the charges for the delivery of electric power and energy contained in Rate RDS are applicable for such service. The charges for the delivery of electric power and energy contained in Rate RDS are also applicable to retail customers taking supply service from a Retail Electric Supplier (RES) or from ComEd under Rider PPO.
Rate BES - Basic Electric Service: Rate BES is a bundled service tariff applicable to most residential and lighting retail customers, and also most nonresidential retail customers with loads less than 100 kW, or with loads between 100 kW and 400 kW that are not declared competitive, that have not elected service from a RES, under Rider PPO, or under Rate BESH. Monthly charges applicable under Rate BES that are included by reference to other tariffs include the Customer Charge, Standard Metering Service Charge, and Distribution Facilities Charge (all from Rate RDS); the PJM Services Charge (aka Transmission Services Charge), Retail Purchased Electricity Charges, and Purchased Electricity Adjustment Factor are all from Rider PE. In addition, other generally applicable charges, such as State taxes, apply each month and charges for nonstandard services may also apply for customers that elect such services.
Rate BESH - Basic Electric Service Hourly Pricing: Rate BESH is a bundled service tariff applicable to retail customers for which electric service has been declared competitive and customers that self-generate electricity and that have not elected service from a RES. It is also available to other customers that elect hourly energy pricing. Monthly charges applicable under Rate BESH that are included by reference to other tariffs include the Customer Charge, Standard Metering Service Charge, and Distribution Facilities Charge (all from Rate RDS); the PJM Services Charge (aka Transmission Services Charge) and Miscellaneous Procurement Charge, Capacity Supply Charge, Hourly Energy Supply Charges, and Purchased Electricity Adjustment Factor (all from Rate BESH.) In addition, other generally applicable charges, such as State taxes, apply each month and charges for nonstandard services may also apply for customers that elect such services.
Rider PE - Purchased Electricity: Rider PE describes ComEd’s obligations with respect to the wholesale procurement of electricity and certain services through PJM administered markets under the Illinois Power Agency Act. Rider PE also describes the methodology that ComEd uses to determine retail charges to recover the costs that ComEd incurs for the electricity and transmission services procurement, with no mark up or return on the prices paid by ComEd.
General Terms and Conditions: The General Terms and Conditions include terms and conditions that are applicable to all retail customers in ComEd’s service territory. The information formerly provided in ComEd’s Information and Requirements For the Supply of Electric Service (ILL. C. C. Schedule No. 9) are now included in these General Terms and Conditions.
