Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) can account for as much as 30% of a building's annual energy usage. ComEd offers opportunities for commercial customers to cost-effectively improve their HVAC systems and save money on energy bills.
The ComEd Energy Efficiency Program offers low-cost comprehensive AirCare Plus® tune-ups of HVAC packaged rooftop units and split systems to eligible commercial and industrial customers. AirCare Plus tune-ups help businesses save energy and money on their electric bills, improve HVAC system performance and enhance indoor air quality and occupant comfort. Each tune-up, conducted by a trained Trade Ally, includes a thorough inspection and adjustment of the HVAC unit’s thermostat, economizer, refrigerant charge, coils and belts for optimal performance.
Additional incentives for HVAC system component upgrades include water and air-cooled chillers, variable speed drives, energy management systems, demand-controlled ventilation, and air-side economizers.
